Refund Policy

RECLAMATION PROTOCOL // REFUND & RETURN POLICY

Effective Date: January 1, 2026 Series: Operational Standards

A SPECIMEN acquisition is a commitment to a unique narrative. Because our works are hand-assembled using raw, vintage, and biological materials, they are governed by a specific reclamation protocol. This policy establishes the legal relations between the "Acquirer" (Customer) and the "Archive" (Taylor Papadakis) regarding the return of physical goods.

1. THE PRINCIPLE OF UNIQUE ASSEMBLY

Generally speaking, a Refund Policy addresses the timeframe for asking for a refund and whether that refund is full or partial. At Taylor Papadakis:

  • Finality of Acquisition: Due to the limited nature of our specimens and the "calculated chaos" of their design, all sales are considered final.

  • Material Variance: As noted in our Terms, slight variations in resin clarity, coin patina, or organic textures are intentional design choices and do not constitute grounds for a refund.

2. ELIGIBILITY FOR RECLAMATION

A Refund Policy is a legally binding document intended to comply with consumer protection laws. We only accept reclamations under the following specific conditions:

  • Transit Damage: If your Specimen arrives with structural damage sustained during dispatch.

  • Defective Assembly: If a mechanical component (such as a clasp or chain link) fails immediately upon receipt due to a manufacturing oversight.

3. THE NOTIFICATION WINDOW (TIMEFRAME)

Time is a critical data point in our archive management:

  • Initial Report: You must notify the studio of any defect within 48 hours of the tracked delivery time.

  • Formal Request: Reports must be sent to returns@taylorpapadakis.com and must include high-resolution photographic evidence of the damage and the original packaging.

4. RECLAMATION STEPS (THE PROCESS)

Once your report is reviewed by the Archivist:

  1. Authorization: You will receive a "Return Authorization Code."

  2. Return Shipment: The item must be shipped back to our studio within 7 business days of authorization. It must be in its original archival box with all protective padding included.

  3. Inspection: Upon receipt, the item will undergo a technical inspection to confirm the reported defect.

5. RESOLUTION PROTOCOLS

Depending on the specific conditions of the return, we offer the following resolutions:

  • Repair: Whenever possible, we will repair the original Specimen to preserve its unique narrative.

  • Exchange: If a repair is not feasible, we may offer an exchange for a similar specimen of equal value from the current series.

  • Store Credit: In cases where an exchange is not possible, a digital credit for the full acquisition price (excluding original shipping) will be issued to your account.

  • Refunds: Cash refunds are only issued in rare cases where a repair or exchange is impossible and are subject to the Archivist’s final discretion.

6. NON-RECLAIMABLE ITEMS

The following items are strictly excluded from any refund or exchange protocol:

  • Change of Mind: We do not offer refunds for "change of heart" or aesthetic preference once an acquisition is finalized.

  • Custom Archives: Any piece commissioned as a bespoke specimen.

  • Worn Items: Specimens showing signs of wear, chemical exposure (perfume/water), or unauthorized repair attempts.
